Mission

C2D sets out for changing the entire road transportation industry as known today.

Opportunity

The transport industry faces quite a number of challenges: huge inefficiencies in capacity utilization as well as operational inefficiencies, high fluctuations in volumes and seasonality, a high share of fixed costs, a highly fragmented carrier market, joint production, increasing labour shortages, major changes in EU legislation and attributed external costs. These circumstances lead to very low – or even negative – margins amoung freight forwarders and carriers, fueling a devastating competition.

Challenges

General full truckloads in the European Union account for revenues of more than EUR 100 billion. According to EU statistics a share of 23 percent of all kilometres driven by heavy goods vehicles is empty mileage. Furthermore, drivers spend idle time of more than three hours per week at loading and unloading places, in addition to more than one hour spent for each un-/ loading procedure.
